To celebrate the Holiday Season, the MSSF invites its members and guests to the ANNUAL HOLIDAY DINNER, 7 pm, December 14, 2009, at the SF County Fair Building (Hall of Flowers), Golden Gate Park, 9th and Lincoln, San Francisco. OUR MENU: a grand assortment of Appetizers; Holiday Punch; Pumpkin Soup with a Mushroom Garnish and Creme Fraiche; a Salad of Greens, Endive, Persimmons, pickled Mushrooms and toasted Walnuts; Your Choice of Entrecote of Beef served with pommes Anna, cepes in red wine/beef jus and sauteed greens or braised endive OR a Vegetarian entree of Fettuccine with Porcini or Spaghetti Squash with Porcini served with sauteed greens or endive; Olive Bread Rolls, a Dessert of Apple or Pear Candy Cap-nougatine tart and Coffee.
The dinner cost is $35 for MSSF members and $40 for guests. As the venue does not provide tableware, bring your own utensils and dishes (including a bowl for soup). Also, bring your favorite beverage and, if you care to, bring an appetizer to share. Diners who bring an appetizer will get a ticket for our raffle which features unique items. Diners who donate mushroom-related raffle items will also receive a ticket. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED and must be made no later than December 7th. Reservations can be made with Alvaro Carvajal at alvaro.carvajal@sbcglobal.net or (415) 695-0466. Checks should be sent to him at MSSF Holiday Dinner c/o Alvaro Carvajal, 800 Castro St., San Francisco 94114-2809, here is a PDF of the menu and reservation form to print. Please indicate the names of members and/or non-members in your party as well as their entree choices (Entrecote of Beef or Fettuccine with Porcini or Spaghetti Squash with Porcini). Please also provide your address, phone or e-mail should we need to contact you, and the total amount enclosed.

IMPORTANT – DUE to the uncertainties of the Bay Bridge repairs and bridge closure, the November Dinner is cancelled. The same menu will be prepared for the January dinner.

Reservations for this dinner, as for all of our dinners, are required and must be made no later than Friday, October 30th. Seating is limited to no more than 60 diners. We have a raffle at our dinners. Bring something interesting to lovers of mushrooms and cooking, etc., for our raffle and you will receive 5 free raffle tickets. Prizes include tickets for free Culinary Group dinners.
Our next Culinary Group dinner will be February 1, 2010. To be part of the Culinary Group you must be a member of the MSSF.
