MSSF Library Update

MSSF Library Update
Curt Haney

The MSSF library remains open for business.

A complete inventory of books and other items in the library are available for members to reserve on the MSSF website. Just go to the “members only area” and click on Library. Reserve the books you would like to check out and a message will be sent automatically to the librarian. You will then be contacted so you can arrange a date and time to pick up the items from the librarian in San Francisco.

Items in the library can be checked out for 30 days and renewed for an additional 30 days if needed. The library is also a great resource for students.

When in-person MSSF general meetings resume, members will be able to reserve books in advance on our website and then pick them up and return them at the meetings.

The library now contains 795 books, etc. Each year the librarian receives a budget to purchase new and interesting books for our members use.
Nine new books recently purchased for the library:
Fungarium, (welcome to the museum)
Wild Mushrooms, (a cookbook and foraging guide)
Rocky Mountain Mushrooms, (by habitat)
Just Mushrooms, (celebrating the future of food)
The Wild mushroom Cookbook, (recipes from Mendocino)
Alaska’s Mushrooms, (a wide-ranging guide)
In Search of Mycotopia, (citizen science, fungi fanatics, etc.)
How to Forage for Mushrooms without Dying, (an absolute beginner’s guide)
The Mushrooms of Cascadia, (an illustrated key)

I am currently recruiting one or more assistant librarians. If you are interested, please contact me.

NOTE: (Members who damage or lose library books in their possession will be expected to pay to replace them).
