Game of Shrooms

As mushroom "season" winds down and easter egg searches are over, Game of Shrooms offers a fun way to keep in the mycological state of mind. Since 2016 David "Attaboy" Seifert, a Richmond,Ca. artist, has been using the mushroom motif to inspire other artists to "play" on the internet & show the work they create to give away, lightly hidden in public places. It has since gone global and entries and locations that people have registered are available on the website:

This year’s Game of Shrooms has just been announced for June 11, 2022

I discovered this event as I began working on the Fungus Fair but after the final meeting of last year.  It was to fun to spend a couple of hours making art physically distant, with people in hte midst of covid. I saw my mycellium art was discovered and then found a Fimo mushroom [above] in my favorite little library!

In addition, NAMA is hosting a Mushroom in Works of Art exhibition virtual tour April 6 to spark some fine art ideas for those who wish to participate. Thanks to Theresa for sharing!

I may be hosting a "shroom" making workshop at Center for Creative Reuse in Oakland as the date approaches.

Here are some examples posted on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shroomdrop/

If you are interested in the workshop contact me at fungusfair@mssf.org with "game of shrooms" in the subject line OR host your OWN mushroom art make!

choose love,
