On January 19th MSSF had its first Quick Start foray of the year. The foray was well attended. A lot of new members attended which is always a great thing. We met at the south side parking lot and headed west. Almost immediately, mushrooms were being found. Happy faces abound. We headed out to Sunset Blvd, making a loop, only going out one block. We found Russulas, Lactarius, Suillus, a couple of pine spikes and a bit more.

One of our forayer's, Ricardo, showed us a cool trick on how to expose a stamen from a beautiful magenta flowering salvia, we encountered on our outing. When we returned to our starting point, we tried to identify our findings. It was a good gathering of fungi enthusiasts! Thanks to all who came and made the day possible.
